The door, surprisingly, resists the initial impact. Naturally, this also sets off blaring alarms all over the place, and a mechanical voice saying something about 'containment breach', but Kaeda doesn't really care about that. Ariadne easily finishes busting the door down on the second try, and a wave of cold, dry air rushes out of the door washing over Kaeda. It smells vaguely like a hospital. Just as Kaeda is gearing up to head on in, vents on the walls open up and begin to pump in more of the sterilized air from internal air scrubbers.
Ignoring all of this, Kaeda heads on into the supposed bio-containment room. A "room" which turns out to be an entire section of the facility that is not shown on the map the 'door guy' gave them. Probably not his fault, but Kaeda's angry at him anyway.
Choose an Option
1. Go forward down the straightaway.
2. Explore the first room (security station).
3. Take the first left turn.
4. Take the first right turn.
5. Return to the others at the initial crossroads.

Kaeda throws her hair over her shoulder, recalls Ariadne to get it through the doorway, and she checks out that security room.
Option #2: Explore the first room (security station).

The security station is, as one may expect, occupied by panicky employees trying to figure out what the heck is going on (Ariadne inadvertently smashed the outer camera as well). One of them notices her and calls out a warning.
"You shouldn't be in here, Miss! This is not only private property, but a Class 3 Biohazard is stored in this wing! It's safe enough here at the security station, but if you go beyond it you're risking your life!" He pleads. "I know we (the speaker and his fellows inside the sealed security station) can't realistically stop you, but I implore you to reconsider your actions. For your own safety, please leave immediately!"

The last thing Kaeda needed was a lump growing out her head, but she did want information. "Better start explaining what this place is used for, and what that biohazard is exactly before I take you all down there so we can find out together."

The man sighs. He's rather stuck between a rock and a hard place, as it were. He can't get out of the security station without going past Kaeda, but he can't exactly tell her everything without risking his job. "Ah, the hell with it. Probably gonna lose my job over the breach anyhow, so if it convinces you to stay the hell away from the rest of this wing, then I'll tell you." The others grimace at his admission, but don't seem willing to silence him. What have they got to lose anyway? Their jobs? Like the designated speaker said: they're all likely losing these jobs anyhow, even if only because the facility isn't likely to survive a pissed off pokemon trainer that can bust through vacuum-sealed, tripled-reinforced doors of solid steel. "So, I don't know about the rest of this place, compartmentalization and all that jazz, but in here, we have been working on finding and creating cures for several very nasty viruses and afflictions. Naturally, this means that we store samples of said afflictions here." He motions towards the other security door that has since closed off access to the rest of the wing. "You go busting in there, and you can get infected. Most of these contagions are airborne. That means anyone so much as breathes the air without proper protection and they're exposed to it. Now, another part of the research is learning how these things could be weaponized." He sees Kaeda's eyes narrow and quickly continues. "Not for us to use, obviously! We don't want to hurt people, we are trying to help them! But groups like Team Rocket (though they're long gone now) and their ilk probably wouldn't have hesitated to use biological warfare if they thought they could profit from it. Hell, they created a friggin' Pokemon! Everyone knows about the Mewtwo they inadvertently unleashed on the world thirty years ago." He takes a deep, calming breath. "What I'm trying to say is: there's nothing back there for you. Whatever you came here for, you won't find it back here. Does that satisfy you, Miss?"

That was a lot of info, but it always paid to make sure. "Alright then. Alright. Now tell me about the hybrids." Kaeda reads some of their minds to find out about Lia.

"Eh? What?" The man's thoughts scream of confusion. "Hybrid what? I have no idea what you're talking about, young lady. I already told you what we do here." He pauses a moment, thinking, then continues. "Well, maybe you mean hybrid super-viruses? You don't strike me as a biologist though." None of the people in the security booth have any idea what Kaeda is referring to.

Kaeda sighs, and shakes her head. "Get lost before I change my mind!" Kaeda whips out her dex to find out where to go from here. She was looking for her spicy girlfriend, and not extra spicy viruses. There were probably more un-mapped wings, so might as well bust down every door she comes too.

Kaeda flies on down to Cinnabar Island, heading directly for the Gym. She's briefly stopped at the door, where someone politely asks her to confirm that she has six badges. When this is confirmed, they let her in. No sooner has the door opened than Kaeda is struck with a blast of heat. Of course, that tends to happen when the Gym is literally inside the volcano. Sure, the entrance is on the surface here, but the actual fights take place down below. When she reaches the 'waiting area' for Gym Challengers, Kaeda is given further instructions. She must battle and defeat a total of three Gym Trainers before she may challenge the leader. The only time limit is that this challenge must be completed in a single day (i.e. before the Gym closes for the night in ~5 hours). Once these three trainers are defeated, Kaeda will be immediately thrust into a full-contact battle with Ashandra, the Gym Leader. Her Pokemon will be healed prior, but that's it. (i.e. scene/daily moves will remain expended, but health is restored to full)
